Cross-Country skiing near Sleeping Bear Dunes, Glen Arbor

Snowfall is plentiful throughout the state, especially near the lakes. Here the cross-country skiers are gliding over a trail near the Sleeping Bear Dunes outside of Glen Harbor.

Cross-Country Skiing

Winter transforms Garland into a wonderland of seasonal delights with over 40k of groomed cross-country ski trails, ice skating, sledding, indoor/outdoor jacuzzis and our favorite magnificent horse drawn sleigh rides, all combined to make winter our warmest season.

Cross-country Skiing

The Resort offers up to two kilometers of cross-country skiing, and guests have access to 75 kilometers along the trails. Grand Traverse Resort & Spa also offers an ice skating rink on property. Horse drawn sleigh rides are available nearby.

Skiers Welcome, Treetops Resort, Gaylord

Treetops is in the heart of northern Michigan’s snow belt and is an ideal setting for an affordable winter getaway. 23 downhill ski runs, tubing run, ski and snowboard instruction, xc-skiing, a terrain park, plus other activities for the entire family—this is wintertime at Treetops.

Cross-country Skiing, Shanty Creek, Bellaire

Shanty Creek is a Michigan ski area offering a picturesque alpine playground for the winter sports enthusiast. It is an all-in-one destination for the perfect Michigan winter getaway. For cross-country skiers there are 21 km of Northern Michigan cross-country ski trails.
