6 Mid-Michigan Golf Courses Worth a Drive (Wherever You Are!)
Michigan is home to more than 650 public golf courses with great stay and play and golf experiences spread out across every region of the state. When golfers look to escape to our Great Lakes state, the first thought is to head to northern Michigan, but on the way north, you will pass some fun and challenging layouts in Mid-Michigan.

1. Tullymore Resort – Stanwood
Tullymore is conveniently located 45 minutes Northeast of Grand Rapids and features two championship layouts, the original St. Ives course designed by Jerry Matthews, and Tullymore, created by nationally acclaimed architect, Jim Engh. The name Tullymore was inspired by a village in Ireland, and the course inspires great golf. It features generous movements of the fairways with clearly visible approaches and has five sets of tees for golfers of all levels to enjoy. 2. Ferris State University Katke Golf Club – Big Rapids
Located at the highest point of Mecosta County, Katke Golf Course was designed by Robert Beard and features 21-holes and a challenging layout playing as the home course for the Ferris State University golf team. 3. Eldorado Golf Course – Cadillac
Located just south of Cadillac, Michigan at the US-131 & M-115 interchange, Eldorado is a beautiful and challenging golf course. Elevated tees lead to wide fairways allowing golfers to have fun shots into the generous sized greens. The course also features panoramic views and scenic wetland areas. With five tee boxes, Eldorado can play as a leisurely 5,000 yard round up to a 7,000 yard challenge that tests all of your golfing skills.
4. Evergreen Golf Course – Hudson
Located on 327 beautiful acres outside the city of Cadillac, Evergreen is home to two award-winning golf courses and is a wonderful golf experience for golfers of all abilities and families. The Spruce Golf Course is one of the most beautiful and challenging courses in Michigan. Located on a hillside overlooking Lake Cadillac, the course winds through scenic pine forests and gentle hills. Its classic design, featuring rolling fairways and small greens with lots of slope from front to back, can be enjoyed by players of all experience levels. The 9-hole Norway Golf Course is a short, fun course, perfect for beginners, families, and all levels of players.
5. PohlCat Golf Course – Mt. Pleasant
Designed by Michigan golf legend, PGA Tour player and Mt. Pleasant native Dan Pohl, the Pohlcat is one of the most fun and challenging courses in Michigan. The championship course plays over and around the scenic 100-foot wide Chippewa River. Combine that with strategically designed greens, and wide fairways framed by scenic hardwoods, rolling native grass, and wetlands, you have one of the top golf experiences in Michigan.
6. Bucks Run Golf Club – Mt. Pleasant
Bucks Run Golf Club sits on 290 acres of luscious bent-grass in scenic Mt. Pleasant, MI.
