Welcome To "The Bay"!

The Bay Theatre is operated by the Bay Community Theatre Organization which was founded in 2018 to continue the long legacy of a community-oriented movie house in the heart of Suttons Bay. For more than 70 years, The Bay has been a place for the community to come together to enjoy wonderful films and live events.  

In December 2018, the family-owned Bay Theatre was set to close permanently. Upon hearing this news, the local community rallied to create a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and take over the operation of the theatre. The new non-profit showed its first film on January 1, 2019.

Today, The Bay is still standing strong despite the pandemic. 

With the exception of one full-time and two part-time employees, The Bay is operated solely by volunteers in the community. The Bay still shows movies daily and has started back up strong with a variety of fun, live events. For The Bay's programming schedule, please visit: thebaytheatre.com

A step back in time....in a good way!
So cute! Tidy and welcoming. The seats are omfortable with nice leg room. Great cinema and especially family friendly.

Wonderful Small Theater!
Wonderful small town theater!! This lovely old theater is a non profit with community members volunteering behind the concessions. The sound system is great and they chose great movies to play here...

Great local theatre
Fantastic sound, comfortable seats, great popcorn - and local beverages! This local institution always gets top-rate films and acts.
