Though the passion and desire started somewhere around 1988, Emmy's Kitchen (formally Apple of M.I.) breathed its first breath of air back in 2015. It all started when a country girl from the beautiful state of Michigan fell in love with a real life, kangaroo riding Australian man. The country girl was showing this city boy around her family's apple orchard when they stumbled upon some hand dipped caramel apples she'd been working on. The Australian had never even seen a caramel apple, let alone tasted one! Once he tried one, he was in love, insisting that they learn how to make caramel from scratch and bring the recipe back to Australia, and blow other Australians minds. So they did. They worked on the caramel recipe for almost 3 months, trying and failing and trying and failing. Until one night, the Australian cracked the code! They had made the most perfect, most simple batch of caramel. And then it all started. They gave so many samples away to family and friends, and they were all instantly hooked. So, these two kids took to the streets and started selling at food fairs and festivals all around the beautiful city of Sydney.
