Established in 2005 to each quality wooden boat building skills and to preserve the craftsmanship of this industry, the GLBBS offers a 12,000-square-foot facility that sits on 2.5 acre campus 17 miles east of the Mackinac Bridge. It is the only licensed educational institution of its kind in Michigan. Tours are given daily to the public Monday through Friday at 2 pm. Private tours can also be arranged.
