Despite movie theater roots and some current big-screen offerings, Magic Bag deals primarily in music nowadays, with a soft spot for blues. Its stage has hosted everyone from Burning Spear, Robbie Krieger, Bo Diddley, Koko Taylor and Gilby Clarke to local bands. It's also a popular place for CD release parties for Detroit music acts. On Brew 'n' View movie nights, patrons relax with beer and popcorn while enjoying flicks--not to mention reduced admission prices and pitcher specials.
