Listed with the national and state historic register, our historic fly-fishing and hunting lodge is situated on a secluded 20-acre private parcel, overlooking 400’ of exclusive shoreline on the North Branch of the Au Sable River, a state-designated blue ribbon trout stream.
Since 1916, visitors have traveled to the North Branch Outing Club from around the world to fish for trout from traditional, handcrafted Au Sable longboats and to experience the natural beauty and amazing wildlife found along the river’s banks.
Whether you’re a fly-fishing fanatic, an upland hunting buff or simply an outdoor enthusiast, make plans to visit the North Branch Outing Club today.
Each of our 12 rooms and 2 suites is decorated in its own unique style that represents a part of northern Michigan history, or one of the many activities enjoyed by our guests, such as fly-fishing, canoeing, kayaking and upland hunting. Guest room interiors are simple, relaxing and inviting – as they were originally designed to be in the early 1900’s.
Mornings begin with a hearty, “made from scratch” breakfast. The smell of coffee, blueberry pancakes, waffles and thick-cut bacon fill the lodge, awakening guests eager to start the day’s activities.
The lodge is the perfect venue for both large and small corporate retreats, private groups, or unique team-building experiences and is a wonderful place to rest, relax and recharge.
