The Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail has been designated Pure Michigan Trail.
The Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail is a hard-surfaced, non-motorized multi-use trail that showcases destinations within the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and the two Lakeshore towns of Glen Arbor and Empire. Currently the trail runs nearly 22 miles and is designed for walkers, runners, skiers, bicycles, wheelchairs and strollers. Trail users can access this trail at several locations: Dune Climb, Glen Haven's Maritime Museum, General Store and Blacksmith Shop, DH Day Campground, Port Oneida Rural Historic District cemetary, Olson and Kelderhouse Farms, North Unity School as well as several beaches and other attractions.
