University of Michigan - Sindecuse Museum of Dentistry
(Health Screening Required At First Floor Patient Entrance) The Sindecuse Museum of Dentistry’s collection contains more than 24,000 artifacts dating back to the late 1700s. Visit the museum to view exhibits including a recreation of a typical dentists’ offices from the pre-electric era to the 1940s, take a centennial retrospective about the groundbreaking achievements of graduates from the top dental school in the United States and also the first public dental university in the country, the University of Michigan's School of Dentistry, and celebrate a century of progress in the dental hygiene profession. Other offerings include displays about the development and use of dental X-rays, tooth filling & mercury, a feature on the patron saint of dentistry, Saint Apollonia, a tribute to the Tooth Fairy, and more! Hours are 8 am to 6 pm M-F. Closed Saturday, Sunday and major holidays. Free admission.
