Body
The Main Trail, located in Van Riper State park in Champion, is a short, 0.5 mile journey along an old wagon trail through a small mining community. Experience the beauty of the Upper Peninsula when you set foot along this pathway as you catch glimpses of Lake Michigamme’s fine sandy beaches and the beautiful banks of the Peshekee River. If you’re lucky enough, you may even catch a glimpse of a moose in the distance on your hike. Hiking and cross-country skiing are both permitted along this pathway.
