Yankee Springs-Sassafras Nature Trail

The Sassafras Nature Trail is located in the Yankee Springs Recreation Area in Barry County, Michigan. It is a short, 1-mile trail that loops back to the starting point at the Gun Lake Campground office. Visitors will hike along a flat, wooded trail as they pass through the beautiful surroundings of the Yankee Springs Recreation Area, as well as scenic views of the land surrounding Long Lake and Gun Lake. Hiking is permitted on this trail from April through October and cross-country skiing is allowed once the snow falls.
