Yorkburg Manor Bed and Breakfast is located just off M72 on Broomhead Rd. in Northern Michigan's beautiful Grand Traverse County and is within three miles of the entrance to Sand Lakes Quiet Area, part of the Pere Marquette State Forest. 2800 acres of State Forest prohibiting motorized traffic offers unlimited opportunities for nature lovers to enjoy peace and tranquility while biking, hiking, cross country skiing or wild life viewing. There are also five beautiful inland lakes within the area, several of which are managed for trout. This lovely early 1900's farm home, having been condemned was moved and painstakingly restored after being sold in the early 1990's due to corporate development.
Every effort was made to retain the architectural integrity of the home.
Interior and exterior photographs provided by descendants of the original owners documenting the front porch and other physical characteristics as well as other renovations over the years gave us the needed information to take the house back to it's original state. The home is filled with old family photographs, memorabilia and most prized, the 1896 wedding certificate of the original owners along with their wedding pictures which hang proudly in the parlor. This lovely home was in the same family for almost a hundred years and gives the feeling of family, faith and the American dream. We feel extremely privileged and honored to share this home with our guests.
